RUBICON (Rubric-Based Intelligent Curation) is a modular framework for building curation systems which guide text-based reporting at the time of entry. RUBICON provides real-time, sailor-centric artificial intelligence assistance to report writers to speed up report generation while simultaneously improving report quality and accuracy.

Rubric-Based Intelligent Curation

RUBICON is sponsored by the Office of Navy Research. An interactive in-line suggestion interface increases writer throughput by suggesting accurate structured and open-text inputs simultaneously. RUBICON’s design combining large language models (LLMs) with report quality rubrics (RQRs) will work across a wide range of report domains, starting with the Navy 3-M system’s 2-Kilo maintenance action form. The Automated Initialization Curriculum (AIC) will minimize the work and expertise required for standing up new curation systems in other domains. Collectively, RUBICON supports Navy goals by enabling Curation During Creation for generating analytics ready data and improving data-driven decision making.
